Start with a design for your Cinewall

A Cinewall serves as a feature wall for your TV and fireplace. Cables and connections can be hidden behind the wall. You can include compartments for a soundbar or personal items. 

Even if you’re not very handy, building a Cinewall is doable if you follow a clear step-by-step plan. Designing a Cinewall with many compartments can be a challenge. Mounting the TV directly on a flat wall instead of inside a compartment has several benefits. Take your time and keep your design simple.

Build your own Cinewall with integrated fireplace

Start with a simple sketch and include the measurements of your TV and fireplace. Don’t rely on online specs—make sure you have the actual appliances at home and measure them yourself.

• Start with a wooden frame using regular construction wood.
•  Before finishing the frame, install the fireplace. Connect and test all its functions.
• Finish the frame with sheet material, preferably pre-cut at the hardware store.
• Fill all screw holes and joints, then finish your Cinewall with wallpaper or paint.

Cinewall with electric fireplace

There are no special material requirements for a Cinewall with an electric fireplace. The heat output of electric fireplaces is usually limited, so the structure around it won’t get very warm. However, make sure to leave enough ventilation space inside the wall, as most electric fireplaces rely on air circulation.

Cinewall with bioethanol fireplace​

Use heat-resistant materials for a Cinewall with a bioethanol fireplace. Aside from that, construction is similar to one with an electric fireplace. Again, it’s wise to have the fireplace at home beforehand to avoid surprises in measurements.

Take into account that a bioethanol fireplace produces a significant amount of heat. Avoid placing your TV too close, as excessive heat can reduce its lifespan. Mounting the TV in a compartment helps reduce exposure to heat.​

• Start with a wooden frame using regular construction wood.
•  Before finishing the frame, install the fireplace. If using a built-in unit, you can mount it directly onto the wooden frame. Alternatively, use only heat-resistant materials like Promatect or Promafour.
• Finish the frame around the fireplace using heat-resistant board material.
• Fill any holes and finish with paint.
